This trip features the most charming landscapes and cultures of Central Vietnam featuring three UNESCO Heritage Sites, from experiencing impressive and spectacular Phong Nha and Thien Duong Caves, exploring the fascinating cultures of Hue on scooters with Aodaigo ladies, to enjoying the romance and peacefulness of Hoian ancient town and the adventure to Cham Island.
ITINERARY
Day 1/ Arrival in Dong Hoi – Phong Nha Cave (L)
Arrival in Dong Hoi, pick-up and transfer to Phong Nha. Have lunch at local restaurant and then take a 30-minute boat trip on Son River to visit Phong Nha Cave – known as the wet cave. You will be impressed by the big stalagmites and stalactites in the cave. Transfer to Chay Lap Farmstay and check-in.
Day 2/ Phong Nha – Thien Duong Cave (B,L)
Breakfast at Chay Lap Farmstay. Then we visit Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave, discovered in 2005 by the British Cave Research Association. We can take the electrical car from the parking to the foothills of the cave (2km). Admire countless stalactites with different shapes: Thach Thien Cung, waterfall Thien Ha, Quan Tien converging, Thap Lien flower… Before your eyes the image of typical terraced rice civilization, Champa tower, Buddha Guanyin, Phuc Loc Tho, Rong House of Highlands Vietnam… Lunch at local restaurant on the way back to hotel.
Afternoon is free at leisure for relaxing, biking, swimming at the pool or kayaking on Son River. The rest of day is at leisure.
Day 3/ Dong Hoi – Hue (B,D)
Enjoy breakfast before departing for Hue. On the way, we can stop to visit the 500 year-old Phuoc Tich ancient village, about 40kms from Hue. Check-in hotel in Hue.
Late afternoon, take abot trip visit Thien Mu pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. Then enjoy dinner at Mrs. Tuyet’s family, a distant royal branch. The rest of day is at leisure.
Day 4/ Hue highlights (B,L)

Morning, we travel eastward along the city river to Thanh Toàn tile-roofed Bridge in Thanh Toàn village, located about 8 km from Hue city. Here we will enjoy the peaceful scenery of the countryside with farmers working on their tranquil rice fields, talk to friendly local people in the small market and learn more about their daily life. Next visit the family garden, learn how to make some Hue cakes like banh beo, banh loc… and enjoy lunch there.
Afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market. Back to your hotel for relaxing.
Day 5/ Hue – Hoi An (B)
Depart Hue for Hoi An. On the way, visit Cham Museum in Danang. Arrive in Hoi An, ancient town located on the banks of the Thu Bon River, and check-in hotel.
Afternoon, we take a walk to visit Hoi An, one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia in the 16th century and was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. The rest of day is at leisure.
Day 6/ Hoi An city tour – Cam Thanh Village (B,L)
You commence the day by leisurely cycling along country roads witnessing local Vietnamese rural life. Then visit the organic vegetable village, join in the farmer’s daily activities, such as watering and planting vegetables. Then experience riding a water buffalo in a rice paddy field. Next, you will board the boat for a river cruise to meet and engage with local fishermen and enjoy a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. You will also experience paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat in the waterways of coconut palm paradise. This tour provides you with a cultural window into the ways of life of both our farming and fishing communities. Have lunch at the house of a local people.
Day 7/ Underwater walking tour – Cu Lao Cham (B,L) joining tour
Morning, tour guide picks guests up from the hotel and take you to the Cua Dai Wharf.
Then we take 1-hour boat trip on a traditional Vietnamese boat to Cham Island. Arrive at Hon Nhon beach to take part in the “Walking Underwater” (15 minutes), swimming and snorkeling.
At the Unique ecological area of the Cham Island, we have a delicious seafood lunch. After lunch, guests can swim or just relax in the hammocks. Return to the boat for the journey back to Hoi An.
This evening, free at leisure to explore the ancient town on your own or enjoy a relaxing evening at your homestay.
Day 8/ Hoi An – Danang Departure (B)
Transfer to Danang. Stop to visit Cham Museum (if time permit) before transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
