This well-planned 3-days tour features the two main complexes of the magnificent Angkor archaeological park – Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. From the world largest temple Angkor Wat to the small, mysterious, bizarre Bayon at Angkor Thom, to the spooky and romantic sites of Preah Khan and Ta Prohm, and to the architectural jewel Banteay Srei– allows travelers to capture different styles and looks of these world-famous temples.
ITINERARY
Day 1/ Arrival in Siem Reap – half day city tour
Upon arrival in Siem Reap, meet with guide and transfer to hotel. Afternoon we visit the National Museum, and then the famous temple – Angkor Wat the world’s largest temple with the longest intricately carved bas-relief pamels. Explore this 3-tier pyramidal structure with massive galleries of thousand Buddhas, interior walls and niches decorated with stone apsaras (celestial dancers) and devatas (goddesses) and take a walk around the top terrace for a great view of Angkor. The tour continue with a hike up to Phnom Bakheng, a temple-mountain perched on top of a natural hill for a dramatic view of Angkor Wat
Note: elephants can be hired to carry you up (optional).
Day 2/ Siem Reap city tour (B)
Today’s tour begins with the “Great City” of Angkor Thom including the South Gate, Bayon, Bapoun, Terrace of Elephant , Terrace of Leper King … After lunch, continue to explore Ta Prohm – a favorite site of visitors, Banteay Srei with its very attractive carvings, Srah Srang – a Royal bathing place and Prasat Kravan with unique brick sculptures. Visit the Les Artisan D’Angkor.
OPTIONAL: Tonight enjoy dinner with the Apsara dance performance at Angkor Village Resort
Day 3/ Siem Reap – Departure (B)
Breakfast is at hotel (normal check out). Then transferring to the airport for departure flight.
