While Phnom Penh still retains the incredible charm of French-styled buildings and Khmer-styled palaces, Siem Reap is known as the cradle of Khmer civilization which its monuments are among the best in the world.
ITINERARY
Day 1/ Arrival in Phnom Penh – half day city tour
Welcome by your guide, transfer by private vehicle air-conditioned to your hotel.Afternoon, have a short city tour to visit the National Museum of Khmer Art, the Silver Pagoda, in the same grounds as the Royal Palace and the renowned Central Market. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2/ Phnom Penh city tour – Siem Reap (B/L)
Morning, learn about the reign of terror during the hated Khmer Rouge regime (1975-79) by visiting the Killing Fields of the Choeung Ek and the Genocide Museum. Lunch at local restaurant and transfer to the airport for flight to Siem Reap.Upon arrival, guide pick up and transfer to the hotel for check in. Overnight in siem Reap.
Day 3/ Siem Reap city tour (B)
Breakfast at hotel, we have a full day tour, visiting the famous Angkor Wat, the world’s largest temple with the longest intricately carved bas-relief panels. Explore this 3-tier pyramidal structure with massive galleries of thousand Buddha, interior walls and niches decorated with stone aspires (celestial dancers) and devatas (goddesses) and take a walk around the top terrace for a great view of Angkor.Late afternoon, visit the “Great City” of Angkor Thom, Bayon temple and Ta Prohm for its intertwined trees. The tour ends with a hike up Phnom Bakheng for spectacular sunset views of Angkor Wat (elephants can be hired to carry you up).
OPTIONAL: Tonight enjoy dinner with the Apsara dance performance at Angkor Village Resort
Day 4/ Siem Reap – Departure (B)
Breakfast is at hotel (normal check out). Then transferring to the airport for departure flight. Have a safe trip!
